Heat Pipe Special Applications
Due to the unique operating features of Dau heat pipes, they can be used in a wide variety of special thermal applications. Their high heat-carrying capacity and low thermal resistance coupled with no noise or moving parts make heatpipes an ideal and effective solution in numerous electronic applications.
Commonly, the performance of an aluminum heat sink is constrained and limited by spreading the resistance throughout the base of the heatsink (that is, when the component area is less than 50% of the base area). In such a scenario, spreading of the heat can be greatly enhanced by the use of heatpipes embedded in the base to assist with the efficient transfer of heat to the extremities of the heat sink base.
Dau heat pipes have also been used very effectively in applications involving the cooling of lasers, resistor banks, diagnostic systems, high wattage lamps, etc. Essentially, wherever heat is required to be efficiently transported from one region to another, a Dau heat pipe solution can be considered as a very likely and feasible solution option.
